Wireless networks: connect without being tied down

One Internet connection, two or three (or more) computers, no wires. If this sounds like the solution for your small office or home office, you need to investigate wireless networks.

Though it takes some expertise to set up a wireless network, users can share files, printers, and an Internet connection. Laptop users gain the freedom to move around–indoors and out–within a range of several hundred feet.

There are currently two different wireless-networking standards, which can create compatibility problems for those not careful about which products they choose. Here are a few companies with wireless-networking products:
