Standardized letters

A new regulation requiring mortgage brokers and loan officers to use standardized letters for conditional qualifications and conditional approvals went into effect in November 2001. (The regulation does not apply to banks, credit unions, mortgage bankers, and savings and loans.) Samples of the letters are available on the Texas Savings and Loan Department Web site, www.tsld.state.tx.us.
