Mary
Leidy, Collin County Association of REALTORS®, Plano
When Mary Leidy arrived at a Sept. 25, 2000, meeting and saw Plano Mayor Jeran
Akers in attendance, she quipped, "What is it, Mary Leidy Week?"
Mayor Akers replied that no, in fact, it was Mary Leidy Month. Mayor Akers
recognized Leidy for her 25 years of loyal service to Collin County REALTORS®
by proclaiming September as Mary Leidy Month. Her positive attitudeillustrated
by her "just handle it" mottocheerful smile, and hard work
have proven an invaluable resource to Collin County REALTORS®,
and she is a model to real estate professionals across Texas.
Eck
Spahich, Century 21 Best Realty, Borger
Vietnam veteran, journalist, Croatian-American, Texan, REALTOR®Eck
Spahich has been many things during the course of his life. In 1997, Spahich
returned to his troubled Balkan homeland for the first time since 1960 to
sell his deceased mothers home. Because the house was located in a Bosnian
war zone, he was unable to visit the home of his youth, but completed the
sale transaction in nearby Zagreb, Croatia.
Despite being unable
to travel in his native land, he has worked tirelessly for many years to help
it, first fighting for human rights in the former Yugoslavia, and then in
the U.S., assisting refugees from Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo. For this work,
he received on May 20, 2000, Croatias Pleter Medal, which is equivalent
to the American Medal of Freedom.

Cristal Robinson is broker-owner of American Real Estate Services and has
launched a homebuilding business with her husband, Matthewoh, and shes
24. Thats right, Robinson gained her TREC sales license at age 19 and
her brokers license at 21. She was selected in 2000 by NARs "30
Under 30" panel as one of the countrys top REALTORS®
under 30 years of age. And of the 30 REALTORS® selected by
NAR, Robinson was one of only six featured in REALTOR® magazine.
