Mary Leidy, Collin County Association of REALTORS®, Plano
When Mary Leidy arrived at a Sept. 25, 2000, meeting and saw Plano Mayor Jeran Akers in attendance, she quipped, "What is it, Mary Leidy Week?" Mayor Akers replied that no, in fact, it was Mary Leidy Month. Mayor Akers recognized Leidy for her 25 years of loyal service to Collin County REALTORS® by proclaiming September as Mary Leidy Month. Her positive attitude–illustrated by her "just handle it" motto–cheerful smile, and hard work have proven an invaluable resource to Collin County REALTORS®, and she is a model to real estate professionals across Texas.

Eck Spahich, Century 21 Best Realty, Borger
Vietnam veteran, journalist, Croatian-American, Texan, REALTOR®–Eck Spahich has been many things during the course of his life. In 1997, Spahich returned to his troubled Balkan homeland for the first time since 1960 to sell his deceased mother’s home. Because the house was located in a Bosnian war zone, he was unable to visit the home of his youth, but completed the sale transaction in nearby Zagreb, Croatia.

Despite being unable to travel in his native land, he has worked tirelessly for many years to help it, first fighting for human rights in the former Yugoslavia, and then in the U.S., assisting refugees from Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo. For this work, he received on May 20, 2000, Croatia’s Pleter Medal, which is equivalent to the American Medal of Freedom.

She was selected in 2000 by NAR’s "30 Under 30" panel as one of the country’s top REALTORS® under 30 years of age. And of the 30 REALTORS® selected by NAR, Robinson was one of only six featured in REALTOR® magazine.
