Buyers not applying for home loans online...yet

Will online mortgages really become as commonplace as industry pundits keep predicting? Consumers seem to think so. Just over 50% of Americans questioned in a recent Fannie Mae survey believe the majority of home loans will take place on the Web by 2005.

Currently, about 56% of homebuyers log on to the Internet to get information about home loans, but only 2% completed a full application online.
