Laptop caveat

laptop

Before you purchase that new ultralight laptop, you might want to toss it on a scale. Specs for laptops often list the weight of the machine minus components you won’t want to do without–like a CD ROM drive, for instance. Another claim to look at closely is battery life, which most manufacturers state with varying degrees of optimism. Usually, to get close to the listed maximum battery life, you must use power-saving techniques like operating the machine in such a way as to not spin the hard drive and dimming the screen–actions that severely limit the usefulness of any computer.
