Mirror, mirror, off the wall

Of all the ways you thought your handheld PDA would make your life easier, you probably never imagined you’d use it as a mirror. But you can, thanks to a free program from Utilware.com that turns the screen black. Though the resulting (surprisingly good) reflection may not become one of your oft-used applications, it comes in handy at a business lunch when you want to surreptitiously check for spinach in your teeth. (Just refrain from using the stylus as a toothpick.)

You can take advantage of another surprising use for your Palm device by employing it as a low-level flashlight when you don’t want to disturb others. Simply turn on the backlight if you’re looking for your keys on the nightstand and don’t want to wake your spouse. You can activate the backlight on most handhelds by pressing and holding the power button for a second or two.
