What price privacy?

Keeping unwanted calls from ever reaching you is nice (think salesman from the Goldfish of the Month Club) but not if your prospects and clients get put out in the process. Some phone-company privacy-management options intercept calls from numbers that come up as unavailable or anonymous on a caller identification system, which is the case with many telemarketers. The trouble is that some people you want to talk to might also fall into that category. While the privacy mangers do give options for the call to eventually be completed, the hassle or confusion might cause some people to hang up before they ever get to you. If you have a privacy-management system, you should test it from a caller’s point of view to make sure you’re comfortable with what some of your prospects and clients may be facing when they dial your number.
