Get there faster

On your PDA, all it takes is one button.

Booting up is, happily, not a part of the handheld experience. So it might surprise you that you can actually speed up how quickly you access what you want on your Palm OS device. With your handheld off, you can press the button for the Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, or Memo Pad without first pushing the power button to turn on the device. Better yet, you can personalize those buttons to launch any applications you frequently use. Here’s how:

  1. Access the Preferences application from the main (home) menu.
  2. Select the Buttons option. You can find the list of options by tapping the word General in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap the name of the application next to the button you want to customize.

From the list that appears, select the application you want assigned to that icon. Now, whenever you press that button, your handheld will launch the application you want.
