2001 REALTOR® of the Year: John Nichols

John Nichols, broker-associate with Prudential Gary Greene in Houston, received TAR’s top honor as the 2001 REALTOR® of the Year.

Nichols has chaired numerous TAR committees and task forces, was Region 10 vice president in 1993-1994, and served as TAR president in 1997. During that legislative year, Nichols was instrumental in helping TAR pass a home equity law with strong homeowner protections and defeat a proposed tax on real estate commissions.

Nichols has been very active at the local and national levels, with stints as the Houston association’s president in 1991 and the NAR board of directors for much of the 1990s.
