Word tips

Let your PC correct you
Microsoft Word’s AutoCorrect feature acts like a built-in editor for your documents. Select Tools > AutoCorrect Options from the pull-down menu to access AutoCorrect’s settings. You can choose from preloaded options, such as “Correct accidental usage of cAPS LOCK key,” or input your own with the fields at the bottom. You could set up AutoCorrect so that every time you type realtor, Word automatically changes it to REALTOR®. Check out the AutoText and AutoFormat tabs to select other actions you’d like your word processor to automatically perform.

In case you need it …
If you’ve ever wanted to take text in ALL CAPS and quickly reformat it, use Shift + F3. Highlight the passage you want to change and press both keys simultaneously. You can cycle through all capitals, all lowercase, and initial capitals—which recognizes periods and capitalizes the appropriate words.
