Language and behavior cues

Knowing how to interact with people with different styles only works if you can identify the characteristics of each type. These cues will give you a few clues about a person’s preferences.

Extroversion: Conversation and behavior is mostly animated and expressive.

Introversion: Conversation and behavior is mostly quiet and reflective.

Sensing: Focus of attention will primarily be on the bottom line and practical realities. Intuition: Focus of attention will primarily be on the big picture and possibilities.

Thinking: Communication will be characterized by detail and logic and will be direct, thorough, and organized.

Feeling: Friendliness and personal association will characterize communication.

Judging: Focus will be defining priorities and establishing schedules.

Perceiving: Focus will be staying flexible and keeping options open.
