REALTORS®
from across Texas came to Austin Feb. 16-20 for networking, education, business,
and to recognize their peers. Here are a few highlights from the meeting:
- The executive board
approved the funding for the Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee
(IMPAC). The IMPAC bylaws were also approved. This committee is designed
to help local REALTOR® organizations with issues in their area that
might have implications for the rest of the state.
- TAR officers for 2002
were elected: Mary Frances Burleson, chairman of the board; George Stephens,
chairman-elect, Dave Dalzell, secretary/treasurer.
- Gov. Rick Perry was
the special guest at the TREPAC Contributors Breakfast and Awards.
- Sen. Buster Brown,
Sen. Todd Staples, and Supreme Court Justice Greg Abbott spoke at various
meetings about topics of interest to TAR members.
- TAR's 2000 REALTOR®
of the Year was honored at an awards luncheon, along with recipients of
several other accolades.
