Gov. Perry appoints Texas REALTORS®
to Texas Real Estate Commission,
Walton named chairman

 

Gov. Rick Perry appointed three new members to the Texas Real Estate Commission: Mary Frances Burleson of Aubrey, Elizabeth Leal of El Paso, and William Flores of Sugar Land. In addition, John Walton of Lubbock was named chair of the commission, which regulates and licenses real estate brokers and salespersons in Texas.

Burleson, president of Ebby Halliday Real Estate Inc., served as chairman of the Texas Association of REALTORS® in 2002 and is currently on the board of directors for the National Association of REALTORS®. Her TREC term will expire Jan. 31, 2009.

Leal is a broker-associate with Coldwell Banker de Wetter Hovious and is the Texas Member of the Year for the Texas Women’s Council of REALTORS®. Her TREC term will expire Jan. 31, 2009.

Flores is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Gryphon Exploration Co. His TREC term will expire Jan. 31, 2009.

Walton, broker-owner of Century 21 John Walton, REALTORS®, served as president of the Texas Association of REALTORS® in 1999 and is on the board of directors for the National Association of REALTORS®. He was appointed to the commission in May 2001, and his term will end Jan. 31, 2007.
