Download ZipForm

If you don’t have ZipForm on your machine, follow these steps to download and install it for the first time:

1. Go to the ZipForm section of the TAR Web site. You can get there directly by entering www.texasrealtors.com/web/5/47 into your browser, or you will find it on TexasRealtors.com by looking in Legal Tools > Forms > ZipForm.
2. Click the link under Download for the First Time. (Note: You will be asked to log in to TexasRealtors.com. You will need your seven-digit TREC license number and password to do so. If this is your first time to log in, click Need a Password and follow the directions.)
3. Fill out the form, then click Submit.
4. A page will appear with downloading instructions. On the right side of the page is your redemption code. Keep this code for your records. (The code will also be e-mailed to you.)
5. Click the Download Now link on the left side of the page. A Save As box will appear on your screen. Do not rename the file before downloading. Choose where in your computer’s file directory you want to save the downloaded file. Make sure it is a location you can find again. One easy option is to save it to your desktop.
6. Click Save. The download will begin. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, this process could take several minutes.
7. Stay connected to the Internet. You have downloaded the program but you still must install it.
8. Find the file in the place where you downloaded it (the desktop, in this example). The file name is zf5tar.exe.
9. Double-click the file. An installation wizard will appear. It is best to quit all other programs prior to the installation process. However, do not disconnect from the Internet.
10. Follow the instructions on the installation wizard.
11. When prompted for a redemption code, enter the code from step four (above). Click Next.
12. You should get a message thanking you for registering. If not, make sure you are connected to the Internet before entering your redemption code. Also, make sure your redemption code follows the correct format. The code consists of 10 characters made up of a letter followed by four numerals followed by a letter followed by three numerals followed by a letter. The redemption code is case-sensitive.
13. You must restart your computer to complete the installation.
14. After you restart your computer, find the ZipForm icon on your desktop. Double-click it to launch the program.
