Work the Web

Lots of useful information exists on the World Wide Web, but sometimes such resources are hard to find. Below are several sites that you may find helpful.

  • Find an area code. With new area codes sprouting up everywhere, it’s hard to know where your calls are coming from. Locate every area code in the North American Numbering Plan Administration sorted by state or number: www.cs.ucsd.edu/users/bsy/area.html
  • Find a ZIP code. The first link on the left side of the postal service’s Web site, USPS.com, is a ZIP code lookup.
  • Compare apples to apples. Convert meters to yards, hectares to square kilometers, bytes to gigabytes, BTUs to kilowatts, and just about any other comparison you can think of: OnlineConversion.com
  • The Texas government is online. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about Texas and its government, and take advantage of online services like drivers-license renewals: TexasOnline.com
  • What can your clients afford? Help your clients determine their financial situation with these calculators: www.kiplinger.com/tools
