Safety is your call

You know your cell phone is an invaluable business tool, keeping you connected with clients and colleagues. But it can also double as a safety device.

Set up a safety net with your phone by calling a friend, family member, or someone in your office when you head to an open house or home showing. Tell this person where you’re going and with whom, and arrange a time when you’ll call back to report that everything went OK. If you don’t call at the pre-arranged time and this person can’t reach you, he should alert the police.

NAR’s newest REALTOR® VIP Alliance Program partner, Mobile Callback, has automated this process. The service enables REALTORS® to receive pre-arranged calls on their cell phones to monitor their location and well-being. Mobile Callback maps the user’s coordinates and automatically calls local emergency centers if a hazardous situation arises.

When an agent changes location, it just takes seconds to call the system to report the new information. The Mobile Callback system determines the correct emergency number to call and records that information in its database. If a call from the system is not answered, Mobile Callback alerts the appropriate local emergency unit. For more information about this safety system, visit MobileCallback.com or call 877/353-6980.
