Where's the beef?

If you don’t get your fill of beef while in Fort Worth, it’s your own fault. There are plenty of places to fill your craving. Here are just a few near the convention location:

Reata, 312 Houston St. Named after the majestic ranch in the ‘50s film Giant and decorated with memorabilia from the same, Reata has a reputation as big as the Lone Star State. Best Beef: Charbroiled Rib Eye with Cook’s Butter. But Don’t Forget: Buttermilk Pecan Biscuits or Jalapeño and Cheddar Grits.

The Chisholm Club, 222 Main St.
Started by chef Grady Spears, this
cowboy-chic restaurant is located inside the Renaissance Worthington Hotel. Best Beef: Prime Dry-Aged Beef Ribeye fits the bill here. But Don’t Forget: Piloncilla Rubbed Sea Bass

The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, 2406 N. Main St. Owned and operated by Reata alumnus Tim Love, this award-winning restaurant is located in the Stockyards. Best Beef: Roasted Garlic Stuffed Beef Tenderloin with Western Plaid Hash. But Don’t Forget: Grilled Wild Salmon with Smoked Crawfish Salad

Riscky’s Steak House, 120 E. Exchange Ave. Also located in the Stockyards across from the Cowtown Coliseum, Riscky’s is a favorite spot for the rodeo crowd. They’re well known for their calf fries with homemade gravy, which can be ordered as an appetizer or as an entree. (Hint: If you don’t know what calf fries are, you probably shouldn’t order them.) Best Beef: Steak & Premo Enchiladas. But Don’t Forget: Shrimp Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers

Texas de Brazil, 101 N. Houston St. A dozen different meats slow-roasted over an open fire in the cooking style of Southern Brazil are paraded through the dining room on sword-like skewers. Best Beef: That’s a hard one. You’ll just have to sample them all. But Don’t Forget: The 40-item salad bar.
