Could you use more advertising and exposure for your business? Look no farther than your driveway.
Like most real estate professionals, you log countless hours each week driving around your community. Turn that time into hours of promoting your business all around your city by putting personal marketing on your vehicle.
Go undercover
Car wraps take your logo, name, photo—whatever you want—and splash it across the side of your car or truck larger than life. You’ve probably seen this type of advertising on buses and other forms of public transportation, where the pictures cover the sides, backs, and windows of the vehicles.
The graphics are printed on pieces of thin, laminated vinyl with an adhesive backing that are created to fit your specific make and model of car, truck, or SUV. Although expected to last two to five years, wraps can be removed at any time without damage to the vehicle’s exterior.
Give it a shot, Picasso
Sketch out your vision of what you want on your vehicle and submit it to a car-wrap company for an estimate. Some car-wrap businesses provide their own designers to finish your idea, while others require you to submit a professionally created design. Either way, you must furnish the company with high-resolution versions of the photos, brokerage logos, and other art elements that you want to use in your design.
How much?
Different companies charge different rates, but you can expect to pay at least $2,500 for a car wrap on a four-door sedan. Ads On Wheels (AdsOnWheels.com), a nationwide mobile-advertising firm, estimates about $2,700 for a sedan job, but that price includes four hours of work from their professional designers and installation at a location within 30 miles of your home. Autowraps (AutoWraps.com) represents another option in most Texas markets. An installed car wrap on a sedan like a Toyota Camry runs $3,200; an SUV costs about $3,700.
Another option
If you’re not convinced that a car wrap will generate enough income to justify its cost, consider magnetic car signs. Companies provide three-color templates and charge $20-$30 per sign, depending on the sign’s dimensions. A quick Google search for companies that make magnetic signs for cars turned up two Web sites where you can check out examples: MakeRealEstateSigns.com and MagneticSigns4Less.com.
