Put your presentation online

You can put a PowerPoint presentation on your Web site so it will be available to anyone—including you—who has Internet access. Why would you want to? A presentation accessible from the Web is usually a better option than sending it as an e-mail attachment, and there may be times when you don't have your laptop handy but do have a computer nearby.

In PowerPoint 97, click on Save as HTML in the File menu. A series of help screens will give you formatting and other options before you save a folder on your hard drive. The files must then be uploaded and linked in to your Web site.

In PowerPoint 2000, the Web Page Preview item on the File menu will give you a sneak peek of your presentation. The Save as Web Page and Publish features take you through the necessary steps to get your presentation online.
