Paying to power up a computer room and keep it cool

Servers, cables, and other equipment aren’t the only expenses associated with an in-house computer room. Corporate facilities with computer rooms and/or data centers pay 17% more for utilities than those without, according to the Building Owners and Managers Association International. The average size of these rooms is 14,013 square feet, with energy consumed at a rate of 287 kilowatts per year per square foot.
