You knew that TAR offered
Spanish translations of forms and contracts (if you didnt know,
check out the Forms section of TexasRealtors.com or call 800/873-9155 for
more info), but do you know how to get your hands on translations of other
important real estate information? Heres a list of some helpful resources:
- Why Title Insurance
and House of Cards. Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: American
Land Title Association, 1828 L Street, N.W., Suite 705, Washington, D.C.
20036. Specify that you want the Spanish version.
- Ten brochures, including
100 Questions About Homebuying, Buying Your Home...Settlement
Costs Booklet, and more, are available from HUDs Web site at www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/es_menu.cfm.
- Fannie Mae publishes
guides to homebuying and mortgages in nine languages. The free PDF versions
are available on HomeBuyingGuide.org.
- Need to translate a
Web page into Spanish (or seven other) languages? Point your Web browser
to http://babelfish.altavista.com,
enter the URL for a Web page, select the language you want to read, and
click the translate button. Careful, thoughthe translations here are
sometimes a little less than smooth. You can also translate up to 150 words
of your choosing from this page.
