Legal questions answered by a TAR attorney now totally free

The answers have always been free. Now, members won't even have to pay for the call.

The TAR Legal Hotline, one of the most-used and highly valued TAR member benefits, can now be accessed through the associationÕs main toll-free number, 800/873-9155. Previously, callers outside the Austin area had to pay long-distance charges to call in to the hotline.

"Everyone knows that legal fees can get pretty expensive," said TAR Director of Legal Affairs Ron Walker. "Obtaining the answer to a basic question can sometimes save some time and money. We've taken a member benefit that was an amazing deal to begin with and made it totally free. I don't see why every office in Texas wouldn't be using it."

The procedures for the Legal Hotline have not changed. Callers must still have an access code. The designated REALTOR® for each office can assign two people from the office who can make calls to the hotline. These measures help TAR manage calls, ensure that only TAR members have access to this benefit, and alert brokers or managers if sales associates have questions or problems. To obtain an access code, members can download an application from the TAR Web site or call the toll-free number and ask for the Legal Hotline.
