Competition in the Texas real estate business continues to grow. The Texas Real Estate Commission reports that as of June, 90,432 people held active salespersons and brokers licensesthe highest number in eight years. Not only are new people getting licensed, but about 85% of current agents and brokers are renewing their licenses. TREC officials believe the number of real estate licensees will continue to rise over the next several months. One way to narrow down the competition in your favor is to tout your status as a REALTOR®. There are 48,441 REALTOR® members in Texas.
