Demand for e-company warehouse space drops

The amount of warehousing and distribution space needed by e-commerce companies has dropped substantially over the course of the year, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The space is primarily located around air hubs and major transportation centers. In Memphis, where FedEx Corp. has its hub, e-commerce companies went from leasing about 40% of the distribution space in the area earlier this year, to leasing approximately 20% this summer.

Warehouse owners say demand from other sectors is making up for decreased interest from tech companies, though.
