Septembers terrorist attacks sparked a renewed interest not only in airport security, but also building-evacuation plans. Chicago soon will require every building taller than 80 feet to file evacuation plans with the city. While not every multi-story structure needs to prepare for imminent attack, many building owners and managers are thinking about the safety of their tenants. The Federal Emergency Management Agencys Web site offers tips about building security and evacuation, from dealing with a bomb threat to surviving an explosion, at www.fema.gov/library/terrorf.htm.
