Where have you been?

History folder keeps tabs on your Web activity.

Internet Explorer keeps a record of where you’ve been on the Web in its History folder. This feature can be very helpful when you’re trying to remember the URL for a great Web site you found last week–or if you want to see where someone else has been surfing on your computer.

While running Explorer, hit Ctrl + H and browse through a list of all the Web pages that loaded on your PC today, yesterday, last week, and beyond. Click View and organize the list by date, site, order visited, or most visited; the Search button adds another way to track down an elusive URL.

The number of days Internet Explorer stores your Web browsing in the History folder depends on your local settings. To view your History settings, go to Tools > Internet Options and select the General tab. You can edit the length of time the program records your Web movements in the Days to keep pages in history field.
