Tours for two on the Web

Several companies are turning surfing the Web into a shared experience, thanks to technology that enables people in different locations to view the same Web pages at the same time. With a co-browser or group browser, an agent sitting in her office could take a buyer who is at home on a Web tour of houses on several different listing Web sites, then make a quick trip to a mapping Web site or online school information. The technology can also be used by co-workers in separate locales to share information or make presentations. You can even use instant messaging or chat features to communicate about what is on the screen.

Most of these co-browsers require all participants to download a small program to their computers. A couple sites to check out: www.ikena.com and www.powwow.com.
