Is your phone dangerous to your health?

Some people will tell you wireless-phone use causes brain tumors. Others argue that the technology is perfectly safe. Independent researchers have not yet reached a consensus. But one thing is for sure: Wireless phones do emit radio-waves. In fact, the FCC has established wireless-phone transmission-exposure limits for specific absorption rates (SAR) of 1.6 watts per kilogram.

If you’re worried about the possible effects of wireless phone use, you can view a list of SAR levels for many popular phone models on CNET’s Web site at http://home.cnet.com/wireless/0-1923401-7-2587640.html.
