Keep tabs on your favorites

Delete dead and duplicate links

Most Web users over time accumulate large collections of bookmarks and favorites, which save you lots of time and energy unless the links are outdated. To clean up and verify the links in your favorites folder, you can periodically test each and every bookmarked Web site–probably not an option for most people–or employ software to do it for you.

Fortunately, a utility called AM-Deadlink will do all the dirty work. Download this program from the Freeware section of Aignes.com. (Don’t worry about the German words on some of the pages; AM-Deadlink is in English.)

AM-Deadlink imports your bookmarks and favorites from Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, or Opera into a tidy spreadsheet and attempts to connect to each one of them. It reports whether the URLs are working or not and gives you the option to delete any dead or duplicate links.
